| Dates | September 4–12, 2026 |
| Central venue and ticket office | House of Arts, 3525 Miskolc, Rákóczi utca 5 |

| Program control | The festival may change screenings and related programs |
CineFest’s official September 3 announcement now directly confirms September 4–12, 2026. Use the live program as the final authority for each screening.
Use the live program instead of a copied lineup
The organizer’s current navigation includes Feature Films, V4+, Fantazma, CineDocs, CineNewWave, Open Eye, Hidden Gems, CineKids, CineClassics, outdoor screenings, and other strands. These categories help narrow the choice, but the individual listing controls.
Record every selected item as a set: title, date, start time, venue, seat where applicable, and language code. PRE. ONLY marks a premiere-only screening, REP. a repeat, and Q&A a discussion following the screening.
Leave time between items for credits, an announced Q&A, auditorium exit, venue movement, ticket collection, and seating. CineFest expressly reserves the right to change its screenings and programs.
Ticket-office hours and the no-late-entry rule
The online system sells tickets rather than holding reservations. Each purchased ticket belongs to the screening and seat printed on it. As checked on September 4, the organizer lists these remaining central ticket-office hours at the House of Arts:
| Date | Listed central-office hours | Planning note |
|---|---|---|
| Friday, Sep 4 | 1:00 p.m.–7:00 p.m. | Opening day; availability remains live |
| Sep 5–11 | 3:00 p.m.–10:00 p.m. daily | Cash and major cards accepted; no vouchers |
| Saturday, Sep 12 | 3:00 p.m.–9:00 p.m. | Final festival day |
Do not target the listed start time as your arrival time
CineFest says guests cannot enter the auditorium after a screening has begun. Work backward for the correct building, any ticket collection, entrance instructions, wayfinding, and the assigned seat.
The organizer allows a refund or exchange only if a screening is canceled or interrupted, on the day of the performance and with the purchase receipt. Review the current official ticket information before relying on any remedy.
How English subtitles work at CineFest
| Film language | Listed treatment in the official program |
|---|---|
| Hungarian | English subtitles |
| English | Hungarian subtitles |
| Another language | Hungarian and English subtitles |
This does not mean every CineFest listing has English subtitles. Informational screenings may use either Hungarian or English subtitle treatment. On those listings, HUN means Hungarian audio or subtitles, while ENG means English audio or subtitles. Check the code on the specific screening.
The organizer also says there is no intermission between films within a film block. If departure time matters, check the duration of the entire block.
The House of Arts is the hub, not the entire festival
The House of Arts at Rákóczi utca 5 is the central festival venue and central ticket-office location. The official sites page also says screenings and programs use three theaters there and a room at the nearby Csodamalom Puppet Theatre. The 2026 announcement introduces the TTH Stage as a new permanent venue for major premieres, including V4+ competition titles. Confirm the exact site on the individual program listing.
Confirm the building
A film title alone is not a destination. Save the exact venue and current address from its listing.
Confirm the deadline
Use a ready-to-enter time earlier than the screening start, not a curb-arrival guess.
Confirm access separately
A ticket, credential, parking permission, and private vehicle are four different arrangements.
As checked on September 4, the organizer’s English transport page does not provide actionable drop-off, parking, or festival-shuttle instructions. This guide therefore does not invent a dedicated shuttle or promise waiting at an entrance.
Plan Budapest–Miskolc travel backward from the screening
A Budapest-based visitor can compare public passenger rail under the live MÁV timetable and disruption information with a confirmed private-transfer request. Neither option should be reduced to an undated journey-time promise.
A rail plan still needs a local leg from the arrival station to the correct festival site plus the no-late-entry buffer. A private request should specify the Budapest address, requested departure, screening venue, ready-to-enter deadline, passenger count, luggage, and return plan.
The VanBudapest operating team must confirm availability, route, meeting points, waiting, vehicle, and price. A program listing is not a transportation confirmation.
Airport-to-CineFest requests need the full flight plan
For same-day arrival, provide the airport, flight number, scheduled landing, origin, checked-bag count, passenger count, exact festival venue, and auditorium start. Distinguish the desired arrival at the building from the film’s start time.
Budapest Airport may suit some itineraries; another Hungarian or regional airport may be relevant to others. No airport route, availability, or fixed travel time is promised here. The operating team must assess the request, and the traveler should allow for immigration, baggage delivery, live traffic, and venue entry.
If the itinerary is too tight to protect the ticket’s no-late-entry condition, choose a later screening or an earlier arrival rather than treating every transfer variable as fixed.
Press, filmmakers, and hosted guests: access is separate from transport
CineFest includes premieres, Q&As, professional activity, awards, and invited guests. A transportation provider cannot issue a festival ticket, press accreditation, backstage credential, red-carpet invitation, reserved seat, or access waiver.
For an accredited or hosted traveler, list the credential owner, host contact, check-in point, call time, interview or screening time, equipment, venue sequence, and the person authorized to approve changes. Keep private contact and travel details inside the quote process.
The festival prohibits unauthorized recording inside its movie theaters. Professional equipment carried in a vehicle does not create permission to use it in an auditorium.
Choose the vehicle by people and equipment
The current VanBudapest fleet lists maximum passenger capacities. Camera cases, sound equipment, tripods, wardrobe, suitcases, mobility aids, or other cargo can reduce practical passenger fit, so send a complete manifest.
| Group profile | Listed vehicle option | Listed capacity |
|---|---|---|
| One to three travelers | Mercedes-Benz E-Class | Up to 3 |
| One to three executive travelers | Mercedes-Benz S-Class | Up to 3 |
| Compact guest or production group | Mercedes-Benz V-Class | Up to 7 |
| Small hosted group | VIP Sprinter | Up to 8 |
| Larger team | Mercedes Sprinter minibus | Up to 20 |
| Delegation | Coach | Up to 49 |
Published seating is not a guarantee that every passenger-and-gear combination fits. The appropriate category is the smallest confirmed vehicle that accommodates the actual manifest and route.
A multi-day festival needs a movement sheet
For each transfer, record the date, pickup time and address, passenger names or count, destination, hard arrival deadline, contact person, luggage/equipment, and notes. A changed screening does not automatically change a booked vehicle; the coordinator must request and receive confirmation.
VanBudapest publishes an hourly chauffeur format for Budapest with a minimum of three service hours plus one garage hour. That Budapest rule is not a ready-made Miskolc or intercity price. Multiple venues, local waiting, airport arrival, and the return need a tailored assessment.
For split departures, state who travels in each wave and whether equipment moves with the first or last group. If pickup passes midnight, record the correct calendar date.
Before-you-go checklist
- confirm the current date and start time in the official program;
- save the exact venue and its current entrance instructions;
- check the seat printed on the ticket;
- verify the language/subtitle code for that specific screening;
- allow enough time to arrive before late admission closes;
- keep the e-ticket barcode private and the purchase receipt available;
- review the current rules for bags, bottles, umbrellas and cameras;
- check the organizer’s latest change notice;
- confirm the onward plan after the screening or Q&A.
For private transportation, add exact addresses, passenger and equipment details, flight information where relevant, hard deadlines, and the coordinator’s contact. “CineFest” alone is not a complete destination.
Frequently asked questions
When is CineFest Miskolc 2026?
The 22nd festival runs from Friday, September 4, through Saturday, September 12, 2026. The organizer confirmed the dates in its September 3 announcement.
Where is the main CineFest venue?
The House of Arts, 3525 Miskolc, Rákóczi utca 5, is the central venue and central ticket-office location. CineFest also uses other sites, so verify the individual listing.
Can I reserve a seat and pay later?
The organizer says its online system handles purchases, not reservations. A purchased ticket is valid for the stated screening and seat under the current rules.
What happens if I arrive after the film starts?
CineFest says it cannot admit guests after a screening has begun. Plan time for the correct venue, ticket collection, entry, wayfinding, and seating.
Will my film have English subtitles?
Hungarian films in the official program use English subtitles, English-language films Hungarian subtitles, and films in other languages Hungarian and English subtitles. Informational screenings may differ; check the ENG or HUN code.
Can I bring a camera into the theater?
The festival prohibits unauthorized audio and video recording in movie theaters. Accreditation or professional equipment does not override the policy.
Does CineFest provide a festival transport shuttle?
This guide does not claim one. As checked on September 4, the organizer’s English transport page does not list an actionable festival-shuttle service.
Does a private transfer include a ticket, press credential, or red-carpet access?
No. CineFest controls tickets, seats, accreditation, invitations, and restricted access. VanBudapest can assess ground transportation only, subject to confirmation and lawful access.

Final planning note
Choose the screening in the live program, read its language code, confirm the venue, buy the correct seat, and arrive before the stated start. For several days, treat every program item as a separate movement with a place and a hard deadline.
If a private traveler, film team, press group, or hosted delegation needs transportation from Budapest, an airport, or between confirmed locations, send the full passenger, baggage/equipment, flight, venue, and timing brief. The operating team must confirm the service; festival access and transportation remain separate.
